Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration @ Infant Jesus
School
“A student is he who continuously uses his faculty of
observation and carves out for himself a path of life”. Mahatma
Gandhi.
Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated on 2nd October 2017 at Infant
Jesus School. The programme began with a prayer song. A
devotional ambience prevailed as the programme started with
meaningful prayer service in the form of “Sarva Dharma Prathana”.
As Gandhiji said,” The need of the moment is not one religion
but mutual respect and tolerance of different religions”. It was
proved, as students read each verse from the Bible, Quran and
BhagavatGeeta. Rev.Fr.Godwin, Principal addressed the students
and exhorted to imbibe the Gandhian principles of truth and non-voilence.
As part of the celebration, a cleanliness drive was held in the
school campus. Staff and the students actively and zealously
participated in the clean drive as to make the school
environment dirt and dust free. At the end of the programme, the
school choir sang the hymn “Raghupati Raghava Rajaram” dedicated
to Mahatma Gandhi and refreshments were served to everyone as
part of the celebration.
